Both of my parents are veterans (Air Force) and thankful to still have them with me. However, lost many friends to military service including my friend Msgt. John A Chapman (Mako 3-0) who won the Medal of Honor, but died 03/04/02 from his actions on a mountain in Afghanistan. In addition I would like to mention my friend Tsgt Michael Perolio, (Razor 36) a combat controller, who won a Silver Star (Just under the MOH) and a Bronze Star with Valor.

Thank you for fighting for mine and my sisters lives and for mom’s. You have supported us every single day since then and I can never repay you. I only wish to make even the tiniest percent of impact that you have made in my life and in so many others when I’m grown. I’ll never forget to call, I love you.

Thank you for your service to make this world a better place. Without the military, I would not exist today. My grandfather served 25 years in the Air Force and brought my mother and grandmother to the states after the Vietnam War. He gave them a second chance at a better life which led to my existence today as a first generation American. I appreciate your bravery to protect the land of the free and allow others like me to thrive.

Thank you so much for the sacrifice you and your family made for me and mine. Though you didn’t even know me, you did this. Just as Jesus did for all who believed in him, that he is God’s begotten son, died on a cross and raised on the 3rd day to show us all, it can be us if only we believe. God bless you and keep you safe from harm and evil.

Thank You to all Soldiers who have protected this Great Nation of ours. My father passed on Dec. 30, 2013. He was a WWII Glider Pilot. He was in the Army/Aircorp 9th Corp, 442nd Division, 306th Troop Carrier Group. He flew Holland, France, Belgium and Germany. His main mission was Operation Market Garden. Over half the men died in that battle. He received the Air Combat Metal for his Service. He was my HERO and my BEST FRIEND. He always said the HEROS were the ones that gave their lives during the war. He said he was not a HERO. I always thought he and all men like him were HEROS. I’d like to share a poem I wrote a few weeks after he died. It’s called “Soldiers Pain.”
